Tip for Week 9/28/09

Welcome to the 2009 interface everyone! The Tip of the Week page is now solely devoted to PostalCAD 2009.

This week I'll answer the first big question new users typically ask, "Where are the menus?".

Well, you still have access to all the classic menus, they are just in a different place. In the top left corner of your window you will find a large "M". This is the object to pick when you want to access the AutoCAD menus and access files. Picking the "M" will expand this area to show menus, in a vertical order, rather than in the classic horizontal configuration. PostalCAD is now integrated into the tabs and is no longer available through menu listings.

The biggest draw back to using the menus is that you are not learning the tabs and panels where the PostalCAD tools are located. I've mentioned the menus early on, just in case you get stuck needing to do something and can't find the item in the Ribbon, but please do learn the new interface, it works much better than the older system.
