A typical graphic formula for a themed drawing is to hatch a boundary with a piece of text inside the boundary. Common sense tells you to draw a boundary around the text so it won't get hatched over, but you don't have to. AutoCAD will use the invisible justification points as an invisible boundary that a hatch pattern will hatch up to. If the hatch does get too close to your text, for your liking, just draw a box around the text anyway to make the hatch area just right.
