At times, the dialogue box to select files get turned off by accident when working in AutoCAD and you are prompted to select a file to open by typing in the path at the command line.  There are a few ways to get your dialogue box back to select files:

• Type FILEDIA at the command line and set the variable to 1.
• Type S at the command line to open the Settings popup menu, select File Dialogue if there is no checkmark beside it.
• Go to the PCAD menu pull-down and select Settings... to open the Settings popup menu, select File Dialogue if there is no checkmark beside it.
