Tip for Week 4/21/08

My published DWF files have a wide line weight on all the objects when I use the publish command, how do I publish DWF files with the normal object line weights from my drawing?

There is a glitch with the Publish command, if background printing is turned on, the line weights of all objects have a width that is too thick for visual comfort if you zoom in or print from the DWF file.  A simple fix is to turn background printing off in the Background processing options area of the Plot and Publish tab in the Options dialogue box.

If you need to publish DWF files in the background and have the object line weights honored when publishing, use the following steps to correct the glitch.

In a typical drawing that uses plot styles to plot, you need to un-check plot with plot styles in the Plot options area of the Plot dialogue box and then un-check Plot Object line weights for each tab to be published.

It's a little bit of work, but you can publish in the background.  I prefer to just publish in the foreground, rather than change all of my typical plotter options for all my files.
