Here's a quick double-click trick.

Double-click in the coordinates area at the bottom left corner of your AutoCAD window to toggle between off, on, absolute, or relative, depending on the command line mode of a command.  Only on or off is available with no command active.

You can also right-click on the coordinates box to get a pop-up of these same choices.
