AutoCAD Map 3D 2006 will now allow you to temporarily use the Ortho mode while drawing or editing.  Simply hold down the SHIFT key and then move your mouse a little bit and Ortho will become active or inactive depending on the previous state.  Sure beats having to reach all the way up to the F8 key!
