Have you ever worked on a file and then noticed that the line styles are not showing up no matter what line type scale you set?

The answer is probably in the SHADEMODE setting.  Anything other than 2 will cause your line types to show as continuous.  Simply type SHADEMODE and set back to 2 to fix the problem.  Some 3D users simply forget to set the mode back to 2D.
