Tip 11/22/04
Tip for Week 11/22/04

Sometimes you have to ask yourself an honest question and give an honest answer.
Do I use the right-click shortcut menus or not?
The right-click shortcut menus in AutoCAD are just like toolbars, some people use them, and some people don't.  If you are in the group that doesn't use them, there is a way to stop them from occurring and replace the right mouse button click to issue an Enter instead.  You can also have the best of both worlds  If you choose the right options.
To explore the options for right-click settings open the Options dialogue box.  In the User Preferences tab, pick the Right-click Customization button in the Windows Standard Behavior area in the upper left corner of the dialogue box.  If you check the Turn on time-sensitive right-click box you will have the best of both worlds, shortcut menu and Enter.  The rest of the options explain themselves.
Ultimately it boils down to the question of what is the easiest and most relaxing way to get my work done for the day?  Shortcut menu or just a plain old Enter.
