Tip for Week 8/20/07

Need some screen real estate?  Try these tricks with the command line.

The command line takes up the entire width of the screen when it is docked.  Un-dock the command line and it becomes a palette that can be resized.  Rarely do you need the full screen width for the information, so make the palette half the screen width.  You can also make the palette Auto-Hide by right-clicking on the vertical header area and choosing Auto-Hide.  The palette can be forced to disappear by clicking on the arrow button.  This graphic is mode sensitive to whether or not the palette is showing or not.

You can also use the CTRL+9 option to toggle the command line on and off as needed.
