Tip for Week 7/30/07

Is your CAD file very large, say 2, 3 or more megabytes in size?

Most processing plant drawings should be around 1 to 1.5 Megabytes in size, at the most.  An easy way to make sure your file size is clear of excess entities, that could make the file too large, is to use the PURGE command.  PostalCAD has a Super Purge command that can be activated by simply typing PG at the command line.  This command will issue the PURGE command 5 times in a row, just to make sure all the nested unused entities are purged from the file.

After this command has been run, go to the file menu pull-down and pick Drawing Properties to see how small your file size has become after the Super Purge command.
