Ever had to convert a set of drawing
files to the AutoCAD 2000 file format for someone and needed a quick way to
do it? Open one of the
files that needs to be saved in an AutoCAD 2000 file format. Start the
eTransmit utility from the File menu pull-down. In the Create
transmittal dialogue box pick the Add File button and select all the files
to be converted. Now, pick the Transmittal Setups button and in the
dialogue box pick the modify button. Change the Transmittal package
type to Folder, the File Format to AutoCAD 2000/LT Drawing Format, and
Browse to the destination folder. Pick the OK button to exit the
Modify Transmittal Setup, pick the Close button to close the Transmittal
Setups, and finally the OK button to convert all your files to the 2000
format.
You can also reverse the scenario
by converting a large set of AutoCAD 2000 file format files into the AutoCAD
2004 file format. This will reduce the file size to about half their
original size.
