Tip for Week 4/9/07

The ZOOM command has a great Object option that allows you to zoom in to a selection set of objects.  What the ZOOM command does not do, is honor your running OSNAPS.  Most of the time you will just pick a couple of points to zoom or use the Object option, but occasionally you need to accurately zoom to an area in the drawing using existing points.  This is usually the case for printing or saving views.

The simple solution is to use your typical method of enacting a single, one time override snap.  Keyboard entry, OSNAP toolbar, or SHIFT+Right-Click menu will give you the one time overrides needed to zoom accurately to a given area.
