Tip for Week 10/23/06

Are you use to being able to pick a new location for DTEXT entities without having to start the command over again?  The 2006 AutoCAD products have an in place editor for DTEXT ,which replaces the old dialogue box format, and unfortunately, this does not allow you to pick multiple start locations in the DTEXT command.

To get back the old functionality for picking multiple locations, enter DTEXTED at the command line and set the variable to 1.  A setting of 1 will use the old text editor dialogue box and return your ability to make multiple DTEXT locations without having to leave the command.  Why hit enter 3 times, specify a point, and hit enter 2 more times just to continue making another piece of DTEXT?  The new in place editor may not be worth the agrevation  in the long run.
