Tip for Week 8/21/06

Autodesk Map 2006 3D allows users to re-define saved view boundaries with a dialogue box button.

Open the View dialogue box, highlight a saved layer, and then pick the Edit Boundaries button.  The screen will temporarily change to show the existing boundary with a black background and all other background areas will be a dark grey.  Simply pick two points with your mouse to visually see the new boundary with a black background. AutoCAD allows multiple picks to get it just right, if you don't like the pick points.  To reset the boundary permanently, enter a return (Spacebar or the Enter key).

A good tip to know about this dialogue box is that deleting layer information that was saved to a view is not an optional button in the named view tab of dialogue box, but if you highlight a layer and right-click, the option for deleting the layer info appears as an option.
