This week's tip uses the new
Calculator palette in AutoCAD.
When opening the QuickCalc palette, the interface is in
simple Basic Calculator Mode. The first three buttons on the top left
are self explanatory, but some of the next four buttons are actually very
useful for day to day checks in your drawing for X,Y,Z points, distances,
angle of an entity, and intersection points of four picks of the mouse.
If you need to check multiple
distances for several minutes on a project, try the calculator instead of
the Dist command and see if you like the interface better. Tip, you
can pick two points to enter a distance and then issue a return each time to
populate the history window at the top of the palette.
