Tip for Week 4/3/06

Do you ever need to draw lines at the same angle, other than orthographically, multiple times in a drawing session?  The easiest way to accomplish this is to set the Polar increment angle to your desired angle.  Right-click on the POLAR button at the bottom of your screen and pick Settings.  In the Increment angle pull-down, chooses the angle you need.  If it is not listed, click in the Additional angles box and specify your own.  Turn Polar Tracking On, and you now have the ability to draw at the specified angle increments, accurately, as well as using the standard Ortho techniques.  Turn the POLAR button off and all you have is the standard Ortho with 0, 90, 180, and 270, if it is turned On.

If you need to specify a different angle for your cursor permanently, or if it changes for any reason other than 0, 90, 180, and 270, right-click on the SNAP button and pick Settings. in the Snap area change the angle to that which is desired, and finish out the dialogue box with the OK button.  Your cursor is now locked into that angle.  Toggle back by changing the snap angle back to 0.
