One of the first customization
tricks for any user is to move the command line from the bottom of the
screen to the top. If the command line is moved to the top, where most
of the action is, you won't have to keep looking down to the bottom of the
screen every time you check the command line. Your vertical toolbars
are anchored near the top, the layer properties pull-down is at the top, and
the standard toolbar is typically horizontal at the top. Most users
anchor other horizontal toolbars at the top also. It just makes sense
to move the area that you look at the most, other than the drawing window,
to the top.
To dock the command line at the top
of your screen, simply left-click and hold the two vertical bars to the left
and drag until the bounding rectangle docks below the bottom toolbar at the
top of your screen.
A final tip, be prepared to see the
command line float at the cursor when we upgrade to Autodesk Map 2006 in the
future.
