What's the difference between the Acad
plot style table and the monochrome plot style table?
The Acad plot style table will print
objects in the color they appear in your drawing. The monochrome plot
style will print all objects in black, regardless of their color in your
file.
These two plot styles are installed with any AutoCAD installation.
You can create your own plot style
variation by using the Plot Style Manager found under the File menu
pull-down. The listing will open an Explorer folder window with a
shortcut for the Add-A-Plot Style Table Wizard. Click on this shortcut
to begin the wizard. Continue through the welcoming screen to start a
new plot style from scratch. Ensure that the style is a Color
Dependant style then give the plot style file a name, such as cyan as black.
This new style being created will allow you to keep text layers the color of
cyan, but print the text objects in black. In the final window of the
editor, pick the Plot Style Table Editor button to edit your new style.
Open the Form View tab and highlight an AutoCAD index color that you want to
print black, rather than in color. The typical layer color for text is
usually cyan. Now in the Properties area, pull down the Color
listing and choose black. Pick save and close, then finish out the
wizard. This plot style is now available for use in the Page setup or
the Plot dialogue box. Don't forget to save the new plot style to your
template file if the style will be used all the time.
