Tip for Week 7/4/05

is there a way to search for a specific layer name in all my drawings?

Yes, there is a way.  Open Design Center and pick the Find button (the globe with a magnifying glass).  In the "Look for" pull-down list, select Layers.  In the "In" pull-down, surf to the folder you wish to search in.  In the "Search for the name" area, type the needed text string from the layer that you are searching for.  Wildcard symbols can be used here (*DBCS* to find any variation of layers with the text string of DBCS).  The search string is not case sensitive by the way.

This trick is great for checking to see if any drawings were not updated to PostalCAD standards.  Use your old layer name in the Search for area and double check any files that are found.  Use a new PostalCAD layer name to see which files are to the standards.
