Yes, that grand and glorious command
line that we stare at every time we're in AutoCAD holds a few simple tricks
that we often forget. Here's a few more tricks that haven't been
listed before in this page.
The easiest thing to forget for
beginners is that the command line remembers the last command that you used.
Simply issue a return in order to repeat the last command. Usually
this would be the Enter key or the Spacebar.
Another way to repeat the last command would be to use the up and down arrow
keys to search for the previous Command line command or entry and issue a
return.
The last tip is pretty amazing when using the Line command followed by the
Arc command.
Draw a line on the screen and then start the arc command. Rather than
specifying a point or picking a location with the mouse, enter another
return. This is the same as typing in the @ symbol and issuing a
return. The @ symbol equals last point specified to AutoCAD. Try
the double return with several commands and several combinations of
commands. you'll be surprised at the results.
