Tip for Week 11/29/04

Here's one of those infamous did you
know type questions.
Did you know that you can show more than one open drawing in the Windows
Taskbar at one time? Some people call this the Windows Startbar by the
way.
That's right folks, AutoCAD 2005 products now have a system variable called
Taskbar that will allow you to show multiple open drawings on the Taskbar.
Issue the Taskbar command and enter 1 to turn on, or 0 (zero) to turn it
off. This variable is real time, so try it for awhile with it on (1).
If you don't like the extra clutter, turn it off (0). This trick is
invaluable when working on block libraries or when you are cutting and
pasting from one drawing to the other.
This setup allows you to use the ALT+TAB key combo as well as the standard
CTRL+TAB key combo to cycle through the open drawings when turned on.
The ALT+TAB key combo uses the Windows Task Manager utility.
Another tip for using this variable in the on mode would be to move your
Startbar to a vertical position to the right or left of your screen by
left-clicking and holding your mouse button on an empty portion of the
taskbar and moving it to the correct position. Make sure that the
taskbar is not in the locked mode when doing this.
