Tip for Week 9/1/03

On occation it would be nice if you could pick a number of DTEXT entities and copy that information to a seperate text file for other uses.  In days of old, a user would have to open a text editor such as Notepad, then issue the DDedit command on each seperate line of Dtext and paste the text into their new document.  PostalCAD offers a utility that will allow the user to pick any Dtext object, in any order, and paste it directly into Notepad.

1.  Enter T2F on the command line.
2.  Select the DTEXT entities that you would like to copy, in the order that you want them to appear in the Notepad file.
3.  At the ASCII export dialogue, give the new file a name and a destination and pick Save.
You will now have an opportunity to open the new file in Notepad or not.

This really helps if the general notes were typed in DTEXT entities.
